Nicosia: Cypriot drivers do not yet know the correct use of a three lane motorway. The new stretch has now opened and there will be a heavy police presence.

Any offences that are detected will be dealt with by way of warning for the first 15 days then prosecutions will result.

The restrictions are the same as shown in the UK highway code. For example, keep left, use the middle and offside lanes for overtaking. No overtaking on the nearside.

No vehicles over 7.5 tonnes or vehicles towing are allowed in the offside lane.
